Heart Coherence and the HRV
Working in a local hospital’s cardiology department, I consistently spoke with patients who were experiencing chest pains, rapid pulse, shortness of breath, and other heart related symptoms due to stress. They would share stories of what was happening in their lives and how those stressors were manifesting in physical sensations. Researching the effects of stress on the body, I learned about the HeartMath Institute and their research in Heart Coherence and the Heart Rate Variability (HRV).
I became a certified Heart Coherence Practitioner so that I could share another stress reducing practice to empower my clients’ well-being.
Using evidence-based techniques, including short, easy to use guided meditations, the client experiences heart coherence, resulting in reduced feelings of stress and increased feelings of emotional well-being. The biofeedback results show that when the heart is in coherence there is increased HRV, balance, and resilience, for increased health and healing.
