After decades of personal yoga and meditation practice, I wanted to share the many benefits I have received from my mindful movement practices with others.
I obtained my 200 HR RYT in the Vinyasa lineage of Krishnamacharya, and continued my education with other specialized certifications, such as yoga for trauma, yoga nidra, and senior fitness. I have since been joyfully and gratefully sharing this training and continuous education in a variety of styles and settings.
When I first learned of the research being done at The HeartMath Institute involving heart coherence meditations using biofeedback, I was led to become a certified practitioner. With a background in Social Work, Behavioral Health, and Clinical Cardiovascular and Respiratory Health, I used these stress-reducing and coping techniques to help support the populations I worked with. I have utilized these evidence-based techniques increasing heart rate variability, heart coherence, and resilience, working with a range of clients from children and families, to long term care, rehabilitation, and hospice patients. These techniques are incorporated into many of the different classes I teach and other services I provide.
Training in energy flow and how to unblock stuck emotional, intellectual, or traumatic events from the body through movement and visualization, was a natural addition to creating a whole-being approach to health and wellness. Being a Reiki Master, along with Healing Touch and Chakra Healing, I offer individuals’ insight into places in the energetic and etheric body that need attention so they do not become chronic conditions.
As a holistic service provider, I believe that through a variety of wellness practices, addressing the whole self, we can improve our whole health. I am honored to share my knowledge, experience, and training in evidence-based techniques, to help support and empower others in improving confidence, strength, flexibility, focus, clarity, and balance;
in body, heart, and mind.
“By integrating somatic, emotional, and cognitive techniques, we engage the body, heart, and mind to promote resilience through a more relaxed and regulated nervous system. This helps improve confidence, clarity, flexibility, strength, and balance, internally and externally. Our physical, mental, and emotional health, has an effect on our environment, our relationships and our careers.”
