Yoga and Relaxation
The word Yoga means “union”, the union between the mind, body, and spirit. Yoga creates a healthy connection with your body, as you practice awareness of how and what your body communicates to you, empowering you to make choices that are beneficial to your whole health.
This visit brings relaxation and restoration through grounding, Pranayama (breathwork), gentle Yoga, and relaxation practices. Whether in a bed, chair, or the living room floor, Yoga is an adaptable practice that improves balance, strength, flexibility, endurance, and focus.
Yoga can be individualized to any range of and mobility. Different Yoga Modalities, such as Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Chair Yoga, and Restorative Yoga are practiced safely for the individual client’s level of ability.
Heart Coherence Meditation
HeartMath Institute researched and developed guided meditation tools and practices are utilized to increase and support resilience, calm decision making, and emotional balance.
These quick and easy, guided meditations / visualizations are proven with biofeedback to moderate and balance the HRV, (Heart Rate Variability), signaling the nervous system to relax, creating space for clarity and reducing harmful overloads of stress hormones known to lead to chronic diseases. Creating a conscious connection and coherence in the mind and heart (thinking and feeling).
Research indicates anxiety disorders that improve with Yoga, including PTSD, go together with low HRV which can be regulated through the evidence based Heart Coherence meditations.
HeartMath®Certified Practitioners are health professionals licensed to use the HeartMath techniques and technology with patients and clients in individual or small group sessions over time.
Practitioners are those who have completed and passed the exam and evaluation for the HeartMath Interventions Program or HeartMath Clinical Certification for Stress, Anxiety and Self-Regulation
As a Certified HeartMath Practioner, all material and equipment is provided by or endorsed by the HeartMath Institute and used in evidence-based practice. You can find out more information about the Institute and current research, by visiting: https://www.heartmath.org
Biofield Energy Balancing / Healing
“Reiki is an energy-based touch therapy that provides a means for life force energy, or Chi, to recharge, realign, and rebalance the human energy fields, creating optimal conditions needed by the body’s natural healing system.” -An Integrative Review of Reiki Touch Therapy Research, Anne Vitale, MSN, APRN,BC , 2007.
This is a no-contact biofield (energy field around the biological body) session. Self healing is facilitated by intuitively utilizing evidence-based practices from Usui Reiki and Healing Touch Therapy. Each session is individualized to work within the client’s electro-magnetic field surrounding the physical body, to assist in clearing blockages, re-connecting and balancing energy centers, and repatterning the field for optimal healing and homeostasis.
Soft music and aromatherapy can be used to help create an ideal calm and relaxing environment to promote restoration and healing.
