E-Motion-Energy in Motion, the body as a whole system
If you sit and close your eyes, imagining a bright yellow lemon in your hand, and you imagine yourself taking that lemon, cutting it open, and putting a large slice in your mouth and biting into that lemon, you may notice a physiological response. Your lips may pucker, mouth starts to salivate, maybe you even flinch a little.
Your physical body is a manifestation of your thoughts and feelings.
Have you ever been in a situation where you felt an overwhelming emotion, and your body’s reaction was wanting to cry, but you couldn’t? Did you “swallow” your emotion and feel the physical pain in your throat, often referred to as “a lump in the throat”?
Your thoughts trigger your emotions. Your emotions are energy in motion, “e-motion”. Your body is made of atoms which are 99.999999% empty space. You are energy in motion, so your body is the effect of those emotions and effected by changes or experiences that activate strong feelings.
Yoga, Guided Relaxation, and Meditative practices, address the WHOLE body system. Heart, Mind, and Body. Yoga is hygiene for whole health.
As Western medicine becomes more and more specialized, it compartmentalizes parts of the anatomy as if each existed on it’s own. While in an acute event this specialization is beneficial, it does not address recovery. Yoga, which has been a documented practice for over 5000 years, addresses all of the body systems, restoring the whole person.
